Default Can I replace mods on a tormetned weapon?

I'd kind of like to get a tormented spear (15^50) and convert it into a caster spear (+5e, 20% ench, cruel).

Wiki says "This item can be broken if trying to salvage for mods with a non-perfect salvage kit." Which suggests that the inscription can be removed/replaced. Which hints that maybe mods can be added. But its' pretty unclear. And I'd like to be sure about this before acquiring one.

Can anyone confirm for sure that this is/isn't possible?

Thanks for any help.

Yes you can, just make sure you use a Perfect Salvage kit so you are 100% sure the weapon won't break.

yes, you can change the mods however you want on any torm weapon, some of them come with an inscription, some of them with a blank inscription slot and another mod on it (+30 hp). Regardless, you can mod any of them any way you want.

You can simply overwrite the existing mods/inscriptions with no danger of losing your weap.

Or if you wish to retain the old mods you can do as T-D-C says and use a perfect salvage kit.

Only if you use the slavage kitsand expert salvage kits (available at merchants) is there a danger of losing your weapon.

And yes the official wiki is so pared down that it is frequently obscure.

I can confirm 2 things for you:

1. Tormented weapons can be modded just like other weapons. Mods can be added, removed, and/or written over. In particular, the 15^50 Inscription that it comes with can be removed and replaced, and used on another weapon.

2. A Tormented Shortbow can be destroyed if you absent-mindedly use an Expert kit to remove the string, instead of a Perfect kit.
